Movie of the week - BABEL

I know it is not a new movie. Was screened around 2006 but just got a chance to watch it and also by accident due to I found this DVD at one of the charity sale.
I admit it was Brad Pitt that makes me buy the DVD ;). Lagipun Cate Blanchett ada berlakon sama.

The film portrays multiple stories taking place in Morocco, Japan, Mexico, and the United States. It was an international co-production among companies based in France, Mexico and the US. The film was first screened at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, and was later shown at the Toronto International Film Festival[2] and the Zagreb Film Festival. It opened in selected cities in the United States on October 27, 2006, and went into wide release on November 10, 2006. On January 15, 2007, it won the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture — Drama. It was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and two nominations for Best Supporting Actress and won for Best Original Score."

Thought: Interesting plot. The best scene i like is when Richard (Brad Pitt, the husband) help her wife, Susan (Cate Blanchett) to pee into the pan and when Brad talks on the phone to his son and crying. So touching.... sob sob.

Synopsis/Plot cerita:
Kat Ellis (Debra Messing) is a single New Yorker who returns to her parents' house in London to be the maid of honor at her younger half sister's (Amy Adams) wedding. The best man is none other than her former fiancé, who unexpectedly dumped her two years ago. Anxious about confronting him and eager to impress him, she hires suave male escort Nick Mercer (Dermot Mulroney) to pose as her boyfriend.

Kat intends to make her former flame, Jeffrey (Jeremy Sheffield), jealous, but her plan backfires when Nick convinces everyone, including her, that they are madly in love. Kat then feels herself too falling for Nick as he slowly falls for her. Along the way, Kat discovers that her half sister, Amy, slept with Jeffrey while they were still together. This affair was the reason why Jeffrey dumped Kat because he believed himself to be in love with Amy. Amy confesses her betrayal to her fiancé Ed (Jack Davenport) just before the church ceremony. However, Ed decides that he loves Amy more than he is angry and they end up getting married after all. Kat and Nick end up together. Jeffrey, who was the main reason for all the trouble, learns absolutely nothing. At the end he is seen, possibly in France, as Nick jokingly said to Ed, trying to get the attentions of a female neighbor.

Memang la aku ni ketinggalan keretapi skit.. pasal karakter2 superpower zaman skrg ni...kalau tak pasal Ryan Reynolds yg OOOOOOO (mulut tercengang kagum dgn kehenseman dia... lebih2 lagi dlm iklan perfume tu) takde kuasa nak amik tau citer Green Lantern ni.. tajuk pun pasal lampu hijau tak kedengaran mcm citer superpower pun..

1. He got engaged to Alanis Morissette in 2004 (ye ke.. mcm tak percaya je.. Alanis one of my fav singer); they called it off in 2007 -- and she wrote her next album, Flavors of Entanglement, about their breakup. One year later, he married Scarlett Johansson, but they filed for divorce in December 2010.

2. Reynolds ran the New York City Marathon (26.2 miles) in October 2008 to raise money for Parkinson's Disease, which afflicts his father. He wrote on HuffingtonPost.com of his decision: "A year and a half ago, I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Michael J. Fox. Like so many before me, I found it impossible not to be touched by his story of overwhelming strength, passion and relentless commitment to help those afflicted with this insidious disease. The man is inspiration exemplified. Plus, he was in Back To The Future. Which was, well, awesome. In a moment of extremely poor judgment, I offered to do something big for him--I offered to compete in the New York City Marathon. Which was, well... dumb."

3. He was born in Vancouver and is the youngest of four brothers. He dropped out of Vancouver's Kwantlen College.

4. What attracted Reynolds to the Green Lantern role? The space-epic nature of it," Reynolds said at the MTV Movie Awards earlier this month. "I just loved that you had this film that was an origin story, that's not really starting in the third act like a lot of them do. I grew up with movies like that. I love movies like that. So just to be part of it was mind-boggling."

5. This isn't Reynolds' first superhero. He played Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Still, he says there were challenges to play the Green Lantern, such as flying through the air 60 mph attached to a wire. "The first time you do it, you’re seriously considering an adult diaper," he joked

Thought: Org2 yg six packs body biasanya mengerikan sebb biasanya body depa bagak2 but this one just nice. A surfer's size body with six packs stomach... Astagfirullah...

Oh by the way, you should see this movie 'The Proposal' which Ryan plays with Sandra Bullocks.

Tuan punye blog tak la minat sangat dgn Nur Kasih tu..w/pun masa kat tv series dulu terpacak depan tv..rasa mcm nak jadi boypren si Adam tu...Lagi satu I have a confession to make.. tak suka tengok citer sedih kat wayang.. sebb makcik suka nangis... nnt kuar wayang org ejek ...haha.. baik tgk citer hantu ke, action ke, comedy ke.. citer2 sedih ni.. tgk sorg2 dvd dlm bilik.. baru boleh nangis puas2...

Who doesn't heart for JD ? Johnny Depp lah... my hero dari kecik. Dia ni tak ler macho sgt.. tapi naper yer. He's so down to earth (mcm lah pernah jumpa dia.. haha).Anyway sapa belum tengok Rango? cepat2 pergi tengok. must make sure you like animatic film and a bit of comedy touch dlm filem ni... Tak la berapa boom sgt mcm Toys Story.. kalau nak compare dgn cerita2 jenis cartoon ni kan.. tapi still boleh dibanggakan... western cowboy punye feel...

Lepas ni pakat ramai2 pegi Petstore beli menatang cicak tu...haha..
